FAQ

How RaccoonList works

These answers explain what the product is for, what it is not for, and how claimed profiles fit into the experience.

What is RaccoonList?

RaccoonList is a community opinion platform for people you are about to meet. You search by name and optional city, read the existing signal, and can add your own take if you have first-hand context.

Is RaccoonList a background check?

No. It is not a background check, consumer report, or verified record. Everything on the platform is community opinion and should be treated that way.

Can the person the profile is about respond?

Yes. The subject of a profile can claim it, and once the claim is approved they can add a visible statement at the top of the profile.

Why do some profiles show up in search and others do not?

RaccoonList keeps most profile pages out of search engines. Only approved claimed profiles with a visible subject statement are eligible for indexing.

What should I look for when I read a profile?

Look for patterns, recency, and whether the context feels grounded. One dramatic post is weak signal. Multiple posts pointing in the same direction are stronger signal.
